Valentine Events for Dogs 2019

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether you’re looking for something to do with your dog, interested in some puppy love, or just want a fun date night that lends a helping paw, here are some fun Valentine events that also help dogs in need. For more information, please click on the highlighted name.

Smooch Your Pooch: Super Dogs and Cats (380 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME) will be hosting their annual Smooch Your Pooch event. For a $10 donation to Lucky Pup Rescue, photographer Jen Richardson will be snapping pictures of your pup in their kissing booth. There will also be prizes for Best Kisser, Best Dressed, Cutest Couple, Puppy Love, Everlasting Love, and Love is a Mystery. The fun takes place on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Valentine’s Pet Food Drive: Looking for someplace to bring your four legged love of your life while doing a little last minute shopping on Valentine’s Day? Then head on down to PetLife in South Portland (50 Market Street, South Portland, ME) for their Valentine’s Pet Food Drive to benefit No Bowl Empty Pet Food Pantry. Make a donation to help restock the food pantry’s shelves, and enter to win some great raffle prizes! The fun takes place on February 14, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the South Portland PetLife location.

Puppy Yoga: Don’t have a date for Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry! Spend the evening unwinding with new friends at Puppy Yoga to benefit the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Classes will be held on Thursday, February 14 and Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at ARLGP (217 Landing Road, Westbrook, ME) and will be taught by Honor Movement Studio. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance because space is limited and this event always sells out quickly. They also caution, “this class is likely to be messy, and a bit stinky.” Sorry dogs, no pets allowed. This event features puppies currently available at ARLGP.

My Furry Valentine: On Saturday February 16, 2019 come and see hypnotist Dan Candell alter reality for a group of volunteers during this amusing and mesmerizing show all to benefit the Salem Animal Rescue League. A Board Certified Hypnotherapist and Instructor, author, and international speaker, Dan has devoted more than half his life to hypnosis and has performed all around the world. There will also be hors d’oeuvres, baked goods, candy and a cash bar available. Sorry pups, no dogs allowed, but makes a great gift for your humans. If purchased in advance tickets are $40 for a single and $70 for a pair. This event takes place from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Brookstone Park Events Center in Derry, NH.

Please excuse Asa’s goofy expression. He’s practicing his pose for the Smooch Your Pooch kissing booth.
