Welcome Back to Hampton, Bret Michaels!

Bret Michaels, welcome back to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire! It’s been a while since you’ve played the Casino Ballroom, and we are so ready to rock this weekend! And best yet, you’re playing two shows, so that means you’ll be in the area for more than one day. Back when you rocked Bangor last year on your Parti-gras tour, I made a few recommendations on where to visit in Maine. Now let me be your personal Golden concierge with a few suggestions on how you and the BMB can spend your downtime in New Hampshire this weekend.

I saw your Facebook post where you and guitarist Pete Evick recently visited Area 51. Did you know New Hampshire is the location for the first widely-recorded UFO abduction in the United States? Well you’re in luck! In a nearby town, the Portsmouth Historical Society is having a special exhibit on Betty and Barney Hill’s UFO abduction. If you have extra time, take a drive to the White Mountains of New Hampshire to explore the actual area where it all unfolded 65 years ago! Alright, I know UFOs are more Pete’s thing than yours, so don’t worry I’ve got you covered.

For #SuperChargedSaturday, you dared us to “Find Your Beach.” Well I found some beaches for you to enjoy while in the area this weekend. Directly across the street from the Casino Ballroom is beautiful Hampton Beach, ranked as one of the top beaches in the country by USA Today and Travel Awaits. BUT before you head out for a day of sun and sand, please be advised that if you have your dogs with you they are not allowed on this state beach. And trust me, the Hampton police take this rule serious, even with rockstars. However, if you drive along scenic Route 1A, it will take you to the sandy beaches of Rye. There dogs are allowed all day under their owner’s control because as luck would have it you’re in town before the summer beach rules kick-in. Well except on the Rye beaches owned by the state. Best to keep driving north, across the border, into Kittery, Maine. There look for the signs for Fort Foster, where dogs are allowed all day. In addition to beaches for your dogs, there are also picnic tables tucked away where you can fire up the grill, and enjoy plenty of open space for you and the crew to have a pickup game of football, before hitting the stage in Hampton.

Bret Michaels, we can’t thank you enough for returning to Hampton Casino Ballroom! We hope you enjoy your visit to New Hampshire! As you can see by my photo, I’ve had a rough time lately fighting Golden Retriever Pigmentary Uveitis and Aspergillus. But just like you and your health journey, I shall remain Unbroken, and my family is ready for Nothin’ but a Good Time this weekend to celebrate the good news that I’m healing from my recent surgery! Thank you! Love, Asa

And yes, the meteorologists do promise that it will stop raining and be warm enough to enjoy the beaches this weekend!
