It’s guaranteed to be a groovy day for the whole family at the first annual AWS Woofstock featuring the Funky Felines!  Hosted by the Animal Welfare Society, this FREE dog friendly festival takes place on August 18, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at their shelter on 46 Holland Road in Kennebunk, Maine.

You’ll have a fab time rocking the day away to live music by the Kennebunk River Band, while the kids participate in the far out scavenger hunt at the flower power station.  Hopefully your dog won’t be dazed and confused when he tries his paw at their souped-up obstacle course.  Volunteers will be jazzed to show you how to set up your own course at home!  Then you can hang loose meeting the funky felines and psychedelic pooches available for adoption.  You may even have a blast joining them on a pack walk on the AWS’ nature trails.

Don’t forget your cash so you can scarf down delicious food from local vendors. You’ll also be stoked to try your luck for the many great raffle prizes.  Prizes include theatre tickets, “glamping” for 2, and even a horse back riding lesson!  You don’t need to be present to win.  Also be sure to wear your best 60s outfit for the costume contest to be held at 1:00 PM.  There are groovy prizes for dogs, kids and adults!

Proceeds from AWS Woofstock benefit the important work by the Animal Welfare Society.  The Animal Welfare Society is an open-admission No Kill shelter serving York County, Maine. AWS operates an animal shelter and adoption center in West Kennebunk and offers life saving community programs including Pets and Women to Safety, Paws in Stripes, Paws Across America, Humane Education, Behavior and Training classes and an in-house veterinary clinic. AWS serves as the animal control impound facility for 21 municipalities in York County. AWS is also home to the Cleo Fund providing spay/neuter assistance to individuals and feral cat colony advocates statewide.
