Golden Tail Wags Awards 2024

Welcome to the 7th Annual Golden Tail Wags Awards, where we celebrate the weird and wonderful things we saw, and friends we’ve made, while going on adventures last year. However, unlike other award shows where you get celebrity hosts, you get us – Chuck Billy and Asa! Your intrepid explorers with active imaginations! Rest assured that these awards are not your average superlatives and definitely nothing to shake a stick at!

Best Comedy Writers on a Trail: The award for Best Comedy Writers on a Trail goes to the folks at the Leominster State Forest, who came up with these creative trail names.

Best Comedy Writers in an Urban Setting: Watch as hilarity ensues, when you remove the “&” on this sign, and say it out loud. Yes, it becomes an empty bank!

Best Casting: Although we feel a little singled out here, compliments to whoever cast the woman and the Golden for this public service announcement seen across the street from the Hamlin Memorial Library and Museum.

Best Actress in a Comedy: And the Golden Tail Wags Award goes to….Miss Doe for her role as the nosey neighbor! Who can forget her catch phrase of “Hi ya, neighbor!”

Best Actor in a Drama: Mr. Chipmunk! For his dramatic portrayal in “Case of the Mondays.”

Best Stuntman: Mr. Chipmunk also wins the Golden Tail Wags Award for performing his own stunts. Fun fact: The dramatic escape scene down the hole was taken in one shot!

Best Family Movie: And the award goes to….”Make Way for Goslings!” Proof that chickens aren’t the only ones who can cross the road with a comedic touch! Although upon closer inspection, it appears they prefer potty humor, so we may have to take away their family friendly rating.

Best Costume Design: They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, that is why the judges of the Golden Tail Wags Awards give best costume design to this Golden Caterpillar, for his depiction of Asa in the biopic “A Grand Adventure.”

Best Set Design: The Tin Man’s House! As seen following the road to the rainbow colored kiosk at Buck’s Ledge Community Forest.

Best Documentary: The Golden Tail Wags Award goes to “Bloom Where You Are Planted,” about this determined tree growing out of a boulder at French Falls River Walk.

Best Musical Score: French Falls River Walk also wins for Best Musical Score, because who hasn’t gone on a hike and wished there was more cowbell?

Thus concludes our 2024 Golden Tail Wags Awards. If you would like to congratulate some of the recipients yourself, please click on the highlighted names for more information about their locations. And stay tuned for even more adventures in the year ahead by your hosts, Chuck Billy and Asa!

Asa: Is it me, or is the trophy a lot bigger this year? Chuck Billy: I wanted the Golden Tail Wags Awards to stand out from all the other award shows this season.
