Golden Wolf Identity Crisis

I am a Golden Wolf.  I am a fierce predator of squeaky toys.  So why is it that I’m drawn to Asa’s stuffed Bunny?  He’s had plenty of stuffed animals before that I’ve shredded without the slightest regard.  However, I find myself drawn to this irresistible Bunny.  It all started on Easter when the Easter Bunny thought he was funny giving me a squeaky snake toy.  Everyone knows I hate snakes!  But there was something about that Bunny in the basket that caught my attention.

I immediately claimed the Bunny as mine…and killed the squeaker inside of it.  However, that’s all I did.  I didn’t feel the need to keep going and take the stuffing out.  I just walk around with it.  I even cuddle it!

If Asa tries to take it, I immediately wrestle it away from him.  Not because of my usual excuse of being an annoying brother, but because it’s mine.  At night I am sad when Mom puts Bunny away, and in the morning I wiggle with glee at the mere sight of my Bunny’s return.

Now we are inseparable. I bring Bunny up to the office to work for the day.  I hold Bunny while watching TV.  The other day I even carried Bunny outside with me!  What if the squirrels saw me?  I’d lose my tough guy reputation!  Why can’t I put Bunny down?

It is even affecting my sleep! I nap with one eye open so Asa won’t try to steal it from me.  I’ve never needed a squeaky toy to cuddle before.

What’s happening to me?!  Easter was weeks ago.  This Bunny should be long gone.  Yet here he is still by my side.  I’m a fierce Golden Wolf!  A predator known for hunting squeaky toys!  Golden Wolves don’t cuddle with a stuffed Bunny!  You won’t tell my secret to anyone will you?  And in case you’re wondering, I still don’t like that snake, and need to protect my Bunny from it!
