Here I Walk Again in the Rain

Asa here. I decided to write a song to summarize the first leg of Asa’s World Tour of Maine and the summer of 2023. After looking through the photos and swapping tour memories with Chuck Billy, one theme became readily apparent. It rained…a lot! Every weekend with very few exceptions, in fact. So it is of little surprise that for the last official weekend of summer, we are expecting Tropical Storm Lee to bring us more rain. Therefore, to to cap off the summer leg of our world tour of Maine, here is my parody of Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again,” that I like to call Here I Walk Again in the Rain!

I don’t know where the sun went
But I sure know where it ain’t
Hanging on the promises of weathermen and apps
And I’ve made up my mind
I can’t hold it one more time
Here I go again, here I go again

Though I keep waiting for dry weather
I never seem to find what I’m looking for
Oh, Mother Nature, I beg you to send me some more sun

‘Cause I know what it means
To walk along in waterlogged extremes

Here I walk again in the rain
Pouring down, it’s enough to drive a dog insane
As a Golden, there is no use to complain
And I’ve made up my mind
I can’t hold it one more time

It’s just another weekend rainy deluge
Waiting for the clouds to part and clear
And I’m gonna go out and play in the rain

‘Cause I know what it means
To walk along in waterlogged extremes

And here I walk again in the rain
Pouring down, it’s enough to drive a dog insane
As a Golden, there is no use to complain
And I’ve made up my mind
I can’t hold it one more time
But here I walk again

Here I walk again
Here I walk again
I need to go!!!!

‘Cause I know what it means
To walk along in waterlogged extremes

And here I walk again in the rain
Pouring down, it’s enough to drive a dog insane
As a Golden, there is no use to complain
And I’ve made up my mind
I can’t hold it one more time

And here I walk again in the rain
Pouring down, it’s enough to drive a dog insane
As a Golden, there is no use to complain

‘Cause I know what it means
To walk along in waterlogged extremes

And here I walk again in the rain
Pouring down, it’s enough to drive a dog insane
As a Golden, there is no use to complain…

This photo was from the first stop on the summer leg of our tour. Paws crossed when we resume later this month, autumn will have much better weather for Asa’s World Tour of Maine!
