New England Golden Jubilee Reunion 2026

Spring has arrived, and with it brings thoughts of the New England Golden Jubilee! Maybe you’ve attended in the past, but haven’t in recent years. Or perhaps you’ve always talked about going, but have never made the trip. Or maybe you’ve been a part of this annual tradition every year for over a decade. Regardless of where you stand, all friendly, well-socialized Golden Retrievers and their humans are welcome to attend the New England Golden Jubilee Reunion!

Taking place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Golden Retrievers from across New England and beyond will be gathering with a purpose – to support the critical research of the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, to honor the important mission of Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, to remember special Golden angels, and to celebrate what it means to be a Golden Retriever! However, this year it will be a simpler version harkening back to its roots, focusing on the friendships formed and the family created at this special place of hope, healing, and Golden jubilation.

As in previous years, there will be swimming in the pond, playing in the fields, moments of reflection in Dog Chapel as well as a blessing of the animals, and of course plenty of opportunities to reconnect with old friends while making new ones. There will also be a small Kibble Cup Auction to support the missions of Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue and our hosts, the Friends of Dog Mountain. And of course there will be food! Food trucks will be returning this year thanks to Alburrito’s Food Truck and NEK Catering. We have also been invited back by Tirozzi’s Bakery, Pizza and Fish Shack, to dine on their lawn and patio, and enjoy a special menu just for dogs.

New this year, rather than preregistering to receive a goody bag, items collected will be free for the taking with a donation to the Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Also new this year will be water-soluble paper available to anyone who wishes to write a message, whether it’s a heartfelt note to a beloved dog who has passed or a loving wish to someone dear. You’re invited to place your message gently into the Dog Mountain pond, where it will dissolve and become part of the natural flow of this special place. Paper will be provided and is non-toxic.

Most importantly, the New England Golden Jubilee Reunion will continue to be a celebration of the jubilant spirt of what it means to be a Golden Retriever! As founders of the New England Golden Jubilee, Sandra and Peter Lok envisioned over a decade ago, “The mere presence of a Golden Retriever, their soft fur, wide smiles and soulful eyes, helps to enrich our lives. The New England Golden Jubilee is about helping to enrich the lives of these beloved beings. We’ll celebrate their very presence and indulge their playful spirits with pure Golden fun!”

So whether you’re new to the event, or returning to celebrate, all friendly, well-socialized Golden Retrievers and their humans are welcome to the New England Golden Jubilee Reunion, on May 16, 2026! A special thank you to all the volunteers for continuing this treasured tradition, and to Dog Mountain Home of the Stephen Huneck Gallery for welcoming us to this special place of hope, healing, and Golden jubilation!
