Spatial Unawareness with Asa

Apparently my post yesterday on wanting a little time alone worried some of my friends. We received a few direct messages concerned that everything was ok. Thank you for checking in, and I can assure you that I’m doing fine. However, to put minds at ease, I thought I’d share with you today what it is like to take a nap with Asa. Perhaps these photos will help explain why I wanted a few nights of alone time.

Take for example this photo. I know the sign says, “welcome,” but there are times when I would prefer for Asa to sleep in his crate which is located just a few feet away…

…Because Asa doesn’t always have the best spatial reasoning when joining me in mine.

Asa isn’t always good at recognizing personal space on our dog beds either.

Can you see me? For the record, I was on the bed first.

And who am I to judge wanting to put your paws up at the end of a long day? But must I be used as a paw rest?

Did I mention not only does Asa have poor spatial reasoning, he sometimes tap dances in his sleep too?

Asa also likes to sleep poised to play pat-a-cake at a moment’s notice.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my brother…

…but a little alone time is also really nice too.
